Snow Shoeing

During the retreat, on one of the afternoons we participated in a snowshoeing tour at Gutheca as part of a breathing retreat, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. The tour was led by a knowledgeable and experienced guide who provided expert guidance and support throughout the excursion.

The tour itself was breathtaking, as we were surrounded by stunning snow-capped peaks and pristine alpine landscapes. Snowshoeing was an invigorating and energizing activity that helped to connect us with nature and our breath, putting to practice what we learnt from our facilitators and Johannes Egberts.

The guide was patient and attentive, ensuring that everyone in the group was comfortable and safe during the tour. They also provided insights into the local flora and fauna, sharing their knowledge and expertise with us along the way, and the best ways to be respectful of our surroundings.

Staying at The Chalets at Pender Lea


During this incredibly transformative retreat, we had the pleasure of staying at Pender Lea Chalets and I must say, it was a great experience. The chalets are nestled in the heart of the Snowy Mountains, providing the perfect opportunity to unplug from the daily rush and reconnect with nature and loved ones.

The location is simply breathtaking, with stunning mountain views and a variety of wildlife to spot. During my stay, I saw kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, and even deer! The bird life is also exceptional, with a range of species to admire.

The chalets themselves are well-appointed and cozy, with a wood fire that creates the perfect atmosphere for sharing stories about the day’s adventures. It was also a treat to soothe my muscles in my own private sauna and spa after a long day of exploring.

One of the highlights of my stay was watching the sun set over the mountains and being mesmerized by the flames of our campfire. I even spotted a shooting star while snuggled down in my feather-topped bed.

For those seeking adventure, if you desire to stay for a day after the retreat, there is a range of activities on offer, from horseback riding to mountain biking, fishing, skiing, and even climbing the highest mountain in Australia, Mt Kosciusko.
