Breathless Master Instructor
Eight years ago, a nomadic and unconventional life led me to discover the world of yoga, breathwork and freediving, in that order. The willingness to heal 12 years of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps lead me through such a journey while completing my yoga teacher training in India.
After a few months of monk life, I began to breathe better and take an interest in everything related to pranayama or other breath practices. For the past few years, breathwork has been my passion, my key for healing and now, it is also part of my professional career.
Today I continue learning from modern and ancient approaches and I try to be updated about the most recent papers. I proudly can say that breathwork is a very established practice in my daily routine. The reason I wanted to became an instructor was that once I experienced how life-changing this knowledge could be I couldn’t keep it for myself anymore.
In my work, I am constantly trying to find practical ways to connect others with their breath to improve their quality of life but also ways to connect themselves with others through their breath while spending time in Nature.

Luciana’s experience in transcending autoimmune diseases and conquering fears through freediving has ignited her mission to help others push past their limitations, heal from past or present traumas, and expand their boundaries, using the power of breath and movement.

Do I need to have experience in Freediving, Yoga and/or Breathwork?
No experience is required to join, we teach all levels of freediving, yoga and breathwork including beginners to advanced, in a group experience curated to cater all levels and needs with personalised coaching!
What do I need to bring?
- Personal dive gear* (dive mask, snorkel, wetsuit, fins and weight belt)
- Clothing for a summery environment
- Light jacket to wear on the boat
- Insect repellent
- Sunscreen/sun protection
- Yoga clothes and mat (or let us know if you want to borrow one at no cost)

Is it safe to freedive with Leopard Sharks?
Freediving with leopard sharks is a safe and rewarding experience, but like any underwater activity involving wildlife, it’s important to approach it with respect for the animals and follow safety guidelines given by your instructors. Leopard sharks are non-aggressive and not considered a threat to humans, we consider them the puppies of the ocean, they don’t even have teeth! They are known for their gentle and docile behaviuor.
How fit do I have to be to participate?
To participate in a freediving Level 1 course, you generally don’t need to have a high level of fitness, but a basic level of physical fitness and health is recommended. If this concerns you, please get in touch with us to clarify any doubts.

- There are shuttle services available from both Ballina Byron Gateway Airport and Gold Coast Airport that can take you directly to Byron Bay. These services are convenient if you don’t want to rent a car.

While there’s no direct train service to Byron Bay, you can take a train to nearby towns like Ballina or Murwillumbah and then continue your journey to Byron Bay by bus or taxi.

Where are we staying?
Our luxurious Villa is the ideal blend of seclusion and convenience. Perched on a mountaintop within a 120-acre family farm, it offers complete privacy while remaining just minutes away from Byron Bay, and 40-50 minutes from Ballina and Gold Coast airports.
We’ll have easy access to the Byron Shire’s finest attractions, including beaches, rivers, National Parks, waterfalls, and more. The Villa is a spacious, pavilion-style mansion with 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 7 balconies, and numerous indoor and outdoor relaxation areas surrounding the 20m magnesium horizon pool.
This unique, recently renovated property combines contemporary and industrial design with a touch of Bali and vintage charm. It boasts luxurious amenities such as high-quality beds and linens, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private lap pool. With its three distinct sections, the Villa offers both group unity and individual spaces.
The bedrooms are equipped with King Single beds and Queen beds for couples or those who would like to upgrade to private accommodation (please contact us to make sure we can accommodate this option in this case, since spots are limited).

What is the Deposit and Cancellation Policy?
Full cancellation of booking fee is due within 30 days of booking date – $1,998 – This includes Freediving certification and online pre-learnings material access.
Final balance due 60 days prior to travel date.
100% cancellation fee if all or part of booking cancelled inside 60 days of event.
Special Terms and Conditions
To run the Byron Retreat, a minimum number of bookings is necessary. Up to 30 days in advance of the start date, Breathless Expeditions will be able to cancel the trip. In this case, a full refund of all payments including the deposit will be returned to customers. With your booking, you agree that Breathless Expeditions will not be held liable for any other travel arrangements clients could have made, including but not limited to flights and transportation bookings.
